Just One Thing!

As we come to the end of the month, I received the February issue of "Heart Insight". It's the monthly magazine from the American Heart Association. Since February is all about the heart in more ways than one (hopefully your Valentine candy has been long gone), one of the articles was "If You Could Do Just One Thing To Improve Your Cardiovascular Health..."

The article includes several "just one thing" such as if you smoke, quit. I particularly liked the comment about physical activity. "The great news about physical activity is the benefits start with Minute One. If you are doing nothing, do something." There aren't many things that we do that have benefits from Minute One. In addition to that, the American Heart Association recommends 20 minutes of physical activity a day for improvement of cardiovascular health. That is a small investment with a big return. So if you haven't already, find a friend or a spouse and go for a walk. Do twenty!
