Miracle Liquid

Quite often when I ask the question “Are you drinking enough water?", the answer is “I think so”. Plain water is often overlooked and replaced with other flavored beverages sometimes full of sugar. I have no problem with some of the other things, but water is an important part of the body. A big part of our blood is water; not coffee or tea. Since the body is made up of 70% water, it is so important to stay hydrated. We have often heard that we need 8oz. of servings a day. Tosca Reno in "The Eat-Clean Diet Recharge" suggests taking your weight and dividing that number in half. The answer gives you the minimum number of ounces needed daily. Minimum is a key word here.

Remember this:

1. It is easy to confuse hunger with thirst.
2. When the body feels tired and the brain a little foggy, a bottle of water could make a difference.
3. Other symptoms of dehydration include headaches, mood swings and dry lips.
4. Make water your beverage of choice at meal time.

Ms. Reno refers to water as the miracle liquid. The next time you need a little refreshment, try water first and you might feel refreshed.
