According to an on-line WebMed newsletter last week, there are 6 ways to ruin your knees. One of the 6 is carrying around extra weight. Every pound of body weight produces 5 pounds of force on the knees. Ten pounds of extra weight over the years really can effect more than the waistline. It's just one more reason to maintain a healthy weight.
