Bananas

The next time you are looking for a healthy snack, grab a banana. When you plan a workout at the end of the day, pack a banana to carry you through. We all know that bananas are rich with potassium. In fact, a medium size banana has 100% of our daily needs for potassium, 4 grams of fiber and a lot of other good stuff for only 105 calories.  Potassium and sodium are needed to balance water in the body. Too little potassium may result in weak muscles, a slight increase in blood pressure, and/or abnormal heart rhythm. I always think when I walk by bananas on the produce isle that it is probably the best food value for the money.  And after you eat the banana, use the peel to polish your shoes or shine the leaves on your house plants. You might say it's the fruit that keeps on giving.
