The Cornerstone

It seemed that with every church David served there was a building program.  For most it was a new fellowship hall now referred to as a family life center; a more multipurpose building.  On one occasion the church bought a city block down the street to completely relocate.  I remember at least twice the ceremonial laying of the cornerstone. Originally the cornerstone was the first stone set above ground and all others would be laid in reference to that one.  The  cornerstone was to provide strength and stability to the structure.  Dr. Andrew Weil said,  "A healthy diet is the cornerstone to a healthy lifestyle".  When looking at the numbers for heart disease, dementia, and diabetes, it's obvious that a lot have lost their way.  While 67% of Americans are overweight or obese, only 36% admit to it and many don't even recognize the reality.  When we turn a blind eye to weight problems we are courting health issues in later years.   If you don't have a scale, buy one.  Use it.  Find a diet that works for you if needed.  Create a strong cornerstone.
