I hear it quite often. What can I do to get a stronger core? Core training is part of every class I teach even though I sometimes do it without mention. The question presented recently to the Journal of Orthopaedic and Sports Physical Therapy was of the many core exercises which is most effective. The exercises in the study were 2 floor abdominal exercises and several fitness ball exercises. Eighteen participants were part of the study. When the results were in, the roll-out and the pike took the lead. They are both considered to be advanced exercises with the ball. If you work with a trainer he or she can walk you through them. They both require some strength and guidance so don’t try to figure these out on your on.
