Working with my older adults is an inspiration and a motivation to keep exercising. Some studies show that 1 in 3 adults over the age of 65 will fall. Some studies show that exercise in any form can reduce the chance of falling by 13%. Some of my older adults have exercised in one form or another all of their lives. Others have been on again off again and are now on again. In my role, it is not always easy to see progress. Many times progress is within. However, with this group, I see less of a struggle with exercise. They are doing what I knew was possible, but didn‘t know was possible. It's just reinforcement that “it’s never too late”.
