Right Leg Left Arm

Some of you are most likely familiar with some of the works of Andrew Weil, M.D. He is well know for "Spontaneous Healing" and "8 Weeks to Optimum Health". They are informative and provide a lot of good information to maintain and create good health. After reading both, two thoughts stayed with me. First of all walking is his exercise of choice. Matter of fact, he evens recommends to those that do other forms of cardio exercise to walk as well. Walking is a very complex exercise (as are all) when you start to break down just what happens in the body. While fitness instructors tend to think about the muscles used, effect on the heart rate, etc., we fail to think about the harmonizing effect of walking; the right arm and left leg moving in cross patterns with the left leg and right arm. It can strengthen more than the heart. Second, he stresses the important of eating well. Surprise! I would just sum it up by saying that every bite we eat can do one of two things. It can hurt or help.
