I love working with balls in classes and training. So often I have handed a ball to one of my participants and everything changes. There is a ball for everyone. Yesterday I handed almost weightless balls to my chair class participants. Fitness balls or Swiss balls can enhance any workout. Sit on one and do your bicep curls and you’ll notice the difference. Balance becomes an issue. The core muscles fire and there is more involved than bicep curls. It’s a two-for-one. Weighted balls or medicine balls are great workout tools. Just holding one will increase the work load for squats and lunges, but they are great for other exercises as well. Try doing wood chops, overhead triceps press or abs with one in hand. The "Bosu", a half ball or dome on a stable platform, can change your opinion about abs and push-ups and planks. A table top on a "Bosu" works everything except maybe the little toe. The next time you are in the gym, get some instruction if needed on using a ball and get a lot more for your time spent.
