When we think about "dieting", so often we think about the things that we think we have to give up. We think of being deprived and making sacrifices and that brings no joy to life. Instead of giving up some of your favorites, say a dessert, think about a smaller portion. Dr. Ornish tells us the first bite is usually the best and the last bite is usually the next best. We get the most pleasure for fewer calories. My interpretation: throw away the middle!
