Weights and Weight Loss

It's  amazing what lifting weights can do for a body. For a beginner in 6 weeks the difference is noticeable. The first change I notice is posture.  The second is self-confidence. With so much talk about weight loss, remember that resistance training uses calories.  Not only are calories burned during the exercise, but also some studies show that about 25% as many calories are burned during the first hour after putting down the weights. Another thing we do know is that doing the same thing you have always done will give you what you have. It is important, very important, to mix up your workouts or results will come to a stop.  It might be something as simple as using a ball for a bench.  Shake it up a bit.
