I am quite often asked about an optimal order for a workout. Some may ask, "Should I do my cardio first or weight training?" My answer has always been "cardio first". Researchers at Western State Colorado University recently recruited 20 volunteers and created various combinations of workout plans. Some did cardio first, others started with weight training and others flexibility work. In the end the findings suggested that cardiorespiratory work should be first on days when doing a complete workout. Some of you plan your week with specific days for only weight training. Just remember that a good workout always starts with a good warm-up.
